This delicious strawberry galette is an easy dessert that combines the sweetness of strawberries with a crispy, flakey crust. The perfect casual dessert for spring and summer!
Place pizza stone in oven and preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Remove chilled dough from the refrigerator, unwrap, and on a lightly floured surface roll into a rough circle approximately 12 to 14 inches in diameter. Transfer to sheet of parchment paper.
Mix the flour and ground almonds and spoon onto the center of the pastry dough, leaving about a 2 to 3 inch border all the way around.
Toss the strawberry halves with the sugar and cornstrach, spoon onto ground almond mixture.
Fold the pastry up over the strawberries in small sections, creating folds, brush pastry with egg wash and sprinkle with course sugar. Transfer with the parchment onto preheated stone. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until gold brown.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes and then brush with strawberry jam that has been heated in microwave for 10 to 15 minutes if desired.
