Have to admit I have never been one to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a big way

Call it practical, if you will, but I don’t see the point of being told I my husband has to go out and spend $60.00 on roses today, when we can get them at the market for $15.00 on any given Saturday!!

I do however try to do something a little special on valentines day, like tuck a childish valentine into his lunch along with the decadent milk chocolate heart shaped brownies I made up last night!

Isn’t there a saying that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!!??

This morning we both had the luxury of starting work a bit late, but of course got up early. It gave him some time to relax in quiet while I whipped up a batch of banana muffins with the yummiest crumbly topping ever (will be posting about this tomorrow!)

I have enjoyed spending some time exploring blogs whose writers have younger children at home that are making the most amazing valentine treat bags for classmates. One of my favorites is from Young House Love, so cute!! . Things have really changed from the little paper valentines we tucked into envelopes taped at the front of the class!
